What have we learned about D. R. HANEY?
Well, he likes to talk. Even to himself.
The protagonist of Banned for Life is not the only character he’s written named Jason.
He’s an actor. But unlike most actors, he’s not afraid to tell you what he really thinks about Johnny Depp.
He’s also a model. For porn. Child porn.
Sometimes his mind goes to dark places; he’s only human, after all.
He resisted the urge to commit murder.
He’s fascinated by Charles Manson. Also punk rock.
And he’s the author of the first TNB Book, Subversia, a collection of his pieces on these pages, plus some great new material. Buy it. Read it. Then, talk about it here.
Extraordinary collection.
Duke Haney – your writing is superb.
P.S I like the photo!
Isn’t it from your camera, Zara? 🙂
It was for a fact, eagle-eyed U. It was taken on Simon’s birthday as a matter of fact. There was a heliport on top of the building across the street, and I think I was watching a copter alight at the time Zara took the shot.
Well, Z., the collection on TNB is but a shadow of its former self. Most of the pieces were taken down. But I thank you for your kind words.
Meanwhile, I’m being featured so late in the game that I’m afraid I missed Featuredmania. My timing is almost always off.
A ha! Excellent setup. The eyes-on-the-bright-horizon photo look is often faked, so what better device for authenticity than a convenient helicopter?
I’ve got to get my arse to LA one of these days.
Damn, eagle-eyed U, must I really ask for corroboration? We’re not all fakes in L.A., you know.
Hardly! I of course assumed the look wasn’t fake, but now I have backup.
Oh – and Duke of Url – ha ha ha!
I think it looks like you are in some kind of wacky church.
About damn time!
Truly, positively, mystical photo of you Duke.
I really cannot express enough how much I approve of this “Duke of URL” pun.
That’s a keeper.
And Duke! Him too.
I second that notion of the ‘Duke of URL’ joke.
And, of course, I salute the man who makes it possible, and his writing.
Duke,
I do know that you work long and hard on your writing, but paradoxically, it reads as if it just flowed straight from your brain to the page.
You have a gift, Dukey.
@Admin,
“Duke of URL” is really witty.
Good work!
I know that I’m not crazy.
This whole thing disappeared for a short time,
to be replaced by a Mr. Dust thing,
but now it’s back.
Maybe I did imagine it….
I saw it, Irene. I did.
Phew!
Thanks, Becky!
