The nearly five-minute trailer for the adaptation of David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas found its way to the web this morning. The film, set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, is directed by Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run) along with Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski (The Matrix) and stars just about everybody including Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, James D’Arcy, Jim Broadbent, and Susan Sarandon.  Click below to view (via The Hollywood Reporter):

One of my all-time favorite novels. Like top 5. I never imagined it would be made int a film, and I’m not sure how they did, but after watching the trailer I have a little hope.

Can’t wait ’till it’s in wide release. Thanks for the heads up.

    • I’m a little nervous about the choice of Tom Hanks. Not a Hanks fan. A revelation which I think means I now have to move to another country or something.

Ha ! You are not all alone.

This moving to another country business is a natural yearning
the free cant but help feeling..

There is this dream or is it a movie
in which all the passports of all the world are burning..
That movie does not have Hanks.
