Please explain what just happened.

It all happened so fast…

What is your earliest memory?

Being doused in talcum powder by my older brother when I was a toddler.

I read this email from you in bed, took a shower, ate breakfast, then sat at my desk to answer these questions.

What is your earliest memory?

Seeing Revenge of the Nerds in a movie theater with my dad and uncle.  Based on the release date of the movie, I must have been almost 3, or maybe they saw it second run and I was 3. Anyway, I don’t remember much of the movie, but I do remember my dad’s hands covering my eyes and ears several times throughout. So I would be looking at this giant image and hearing these loud sounds, then I would see and hear nothing, then images and sounds again.  I’m sure this has something to do with my love of cinema and the quality of mystery and excitement that it still holds for me.

I went out to get the newspaper, and the guy hadn’t come.

What is your earliest memory?

Coming downstairs from my bedroom into the kitchen where my mother was. Captain Kangaroo was on the television, and my mother said, “What are you doing up?” In retrospect, if she didn’t expect me up, why was Captain Kangaroo on the TV?

I was stung by a bee, and I think I’m going into an anaphylactic shock!

What is your earliest memory?

The American flag.

I searched through my email to see which interviews I needed to do for my upcoming tour that features Crispin Hellion Glover’s Big Slide Show, Parts 1 & 2 and the films What is It? and It is Fine! EVERYTHING IS FINE.  And I decided that The Nervous Breakdown was next.

I sat down to answer some questions I’ve been putting off for too long.

What is your earliest memory?

Not sure. Hard to tell if they’re dreams or memories. I think I remember a big back yard and a Dalmatian who lived next door.

My husband and I just drove to Sydney to a mate’s place and discovered that the cat we gave them had suddenly died. We reversed down their driveway to discover our friends in tears and a freshly dug hole in the backyard. We just had a little ceremony to commit little “Zephyr” to the earth.

There was a Big Bang, Elvis died, and then Obama tripled the deficit.

What is your earliest memory?

My ears scraping across a birth canal.

If you weren’t an actor/writer/director/producer, what other profession would you choose?

One that pays.

Well… I just had a radio interview for The Everything Film Show on blogtalkradio… was good fun!

What is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory was back in England as a toddler and those double-decker busses. I always wanted to climb to the top deck but my mom wouldn’t let me because she was afraid I’d fall down the steps.

Some guy just sang really badly on American Idol, and I almost burned my dinner.

What is your earliest memory?

I remember the Bronx Zoo really well.I liked riding on the elephant, but my sister was scared to get on.I was 4 years old and the zoo was my very favorite place. At least that’s how I remember it.

I celebrated a great review by eating an awesome burrito and watching Lost with my friend Josh… it was a fantastic night.

What is your earliest memory?

Lying to my mom about picking one of her snap dragon flowers, one of those little flowers that kinda look like a finger puppet, and you can make them talk if you squeeze their sides.  She told me not to pick them, and then I did, and lied about it, and then cried because I had lied, and I confessed.

If you weren’t an actor what other profession would you choose?

Something to do with animals?  Maybe a professional puppy handler, or a kitten lover, professionally or something.  Does that exist?

Please explain what just happened.

I have no idea either!  I have spent my entire life feeling like I missed the first day of school. I’m always wondering what I have missed.

What is your earliest memory?

Crying while boarding the school bus on my first day of school. I was wearing a double knit polyester leisure shoot. Hence the tears.

If you weren’t an actor what other profession would you choose?

Exotic dancer. People buy you drinks and stuff money down your g-string all night.

Robert DeNiro plays a film producer who is struggling to get his movie released. The film is a satirical take on behind the scenes Hollywood, showcasing the kinds of egos, neuroses and personal problems one is likely to encounter when attempting a career in show business. It opened in 2008 to mostly lukewarm reviews.

What is your earliest memory?

It’s possibly a false memory, but I can remember being in hospital for pneumonia when I was one year old. I have a clear image of being visited by my sisters and seeing them come through an automatic door.

If you weren’t an explorer of ancient ruins, what other profession would you choose?

Actor.

It’s interesting that that’s your opening question. That’s actually Larry King’s traditional closing question although with Larry I sense he genuinely wants to know.
